A little bit about Windmill Farm - they are offering reduced rate entry tickets to members camping with our DA during this weekend.

Windmill Animal Farm was first opened to the public in 1992 and offers visitors the chance to experience the every day running of an actual working farm while still having the chance to watch, feed, touch and play with animals.

As well as these beautiful and unusual animals to see, the farm has three marvelous children's play areas. The indoor play barn, one of the largest in the North West, the new outdoor play area by the main farm complex and the second new outdoor play area by Lake View, which can be reached by our beautiful miniature train that crosses the farm.

Pedal tractors can be ridden around the farm by the children, who are most welcome to step into the "Children's Pet Area" to feed and play with the animals.

Visitors to the farm are able to relax and have something to eat and drink in the coffee shop, or enjoy your break outside in the courtyard, while your children play happily and safely.

Other facilities on the farm include a large carpark, disabled access for the less able, baby changing facilities, miniature railway and an attractive craft and gift shop, so you can take a memory of the farm home with you.

Enjoy our fabulous new indoor Play Barn with large ball pools.

School parties are most welcome to the farm throughout the year and educational and guided tours are available with information on the animals and the chance to see and learn about the rearing of these animals and their varied lives.

The Fun Just Doesn't stop!

The Orbiter is fast, furious and great fun!
It goes in any direction - forwards, backwards or spins around by 'finger tip controls'.
As a ride it appeals to a wide age group-Children, Teenagers, Adults and both male and female alike with enjoy this terrific ride
.

One of the best features of our farm is the wonderful miniature railway that crosses the farm.
This is a 15" gauge railway, that is owned and run by Austin Moss.
Austin constructed the railway himself, laying all the track and making some of the engines and coaches in his workshop here at the farm.

The track is over one mile in length and the half way point is at Lake View. Visitors can disembark the train here and look at the lovely scenery whilst the children play on the new Lake View Play Area.

The train runs every day the farm is open, starting at 11.00 am, and is always on time every half hour until 4.30 pm.

We are very lucky to have both steam engines and diesel engines, all being run by Austin and his team of dedicated volunteers. Austin is always looking for helpers, so if you have a love of trains and a few hours to spare, please give him a call, here at the farm.
